SALEM — Coming soon to the city’s downtown — a boutique distillery with a tasting room? A microbrewery offering on-site samples?
Could be, said Mayor Kim Driscoll.
Noting that craft brewing and distilling is on the rise across the state and country — and that several such businesses have expressed interest in locating in Salem — Driscoll recently launched a push to change the local zoning codes so that certain types of facilities can exist closer to the downtown.
