Bar Manager at The Speakeasy Lab

The Bar Manager at The Speakeasy Lab at Deacon Giles is responsible for managing day to day operations in a high volume, cocktail-only bar (no food, beer, or wine). As a key part of the management team, the Bar Manager is an integral part of developing and fostering an awesome environment and experience for both our guests and our colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded attitude, creative mindset, and a desire to provide a top-notch drinking experience.



- Managing weekly operations: inventory, prep, costing, opening and closing ops, etc.

- Assist in managing, training, and developing skills in new and current employees

- Encourage creative and collaborative cocktail development within the entire team, while taking the lead on upholding standards of service, quality, and presentation, to ensure accuracy and consistency in every cocktail

- Provide input on marketing and social media promotion

- Collaborate with local performers and businesses to create events that promote guest engagement and frequency

- Foster a respectful, fun, and engaging atmosphere for both guests and employees

- Oversee the cleanliness of the bar area

- Perform weekly ordering and prep of all cocktail ingredients

- Provide input and ideas to engage and support key accounts and industry members, both inside and outside of The Speakeasy Lab



The Speakeasy Lab functions as both a cocktail bar experience and one of the strongest marketing tools for the brand. Successful candidates will recognize the importance of these dual functions and be active in helping to develop and maintain an appropriate balance between them in all aspects of the position.


Additional skills/requirements include:

- 2+ year(s) working in high-volume, cocktail centric bar(s)

- A creative and collaborative spirit for developing new, unique cocktails

- A positive, guest focused, damn-righteous attitude - Ability to manage, count and reconcile register transactions and cash

- Ability to open/close the bar - Strong familiarity with classic and standard cocktail recipes

- Strong communication skills - Ability to remain calm and focused when under pressure

- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite and social media apps

- Covid-19 Vaccinated

- Hours vary on a Wed-Sun schedule, 35-40hrs/week


Compensation and Benefits

- Annual combined compensation of $56-62k (including salary, hourly+tips, and quarterly bonus)
